Comparing Two Educational Videos on How Hearing Works

We found this interesting (and hopefully not too creepy) old 1940s educational movie about how the ear works.  It actually has good detail.

Now compare it to this recent computer generated explanation as told by the BBC:

So do you think that computer generated imaging makes it easier understand? They sure cut to the chase pretty quickly. Funny how we're more distracted nowadays and can no longer watch a 10 minute video!:  What do you think?

With my tinnitus and noise induced hearing loss I found it almost impossible to hear the announcer’s voice on the second video. The music swamped it. The first video was much more informative despite the occasional delay with the pointing stick! Interestingly the first didn’t mention the cilia (hairs) though.

This video has appallin g sound quality. Just what you don’t need when you are delivering to people researching hearing!
